The luminaires within Swann Lecture Theatre were required to be refurbished and upgraded to LED as part of the wider upgrade project. The luminaire bodies could not be removed from the ceiling due to the integrated air handling system running through them.
Blackmoon developed a system by which the gear trays from the fittings could be retro-fitted with high-efficiency LED light engines and DALI dimmable control gear by our skilled Lighting Technicians. The original reflective louvres were outdated so these were replaced with a flat, opal, low-glare diffuser to modernise the luminaires and improve the visual comfort. As well as the lighting upgrade, we were employed to specify, install and commision the lighting control system within the lecture theatre.
